I Wonder is an inspirational children’s picture book about viewing the Covid-19 pandemic through the hopeful perspective of a child. Perfect as a picture book to be enjoyed or an educational resource to help children through with what is happening during this pandemic.
Writer's Note: What inspired us
One afternoon, our family was watching a Government announcement on the extended circuit breaker on TV at home. I let out a sigh about having to be confined indoors for more days. RaeAnne, our daughter suddenly blurted out, “What’s so bad about staying at home? I think I quite like it!”
Our daughter’s perspective about staying home shed new light on the challenges of having to manage working from home and home-based learning. We decided to make an effort to find joy and delight in our family time together; cooking meals, playing games, taking outdoor walks, cuddling in bed and creating memories with one another.
This book is dedicated to the healthcare workers, who show our children who true heroes are as they risk their lives to protect ours in the midst of the pandemic. We also want to express our gratitude to the palliative team of doctors and nurses who cared for my sister with compassion before her passing early this year. We thank you for making this last memory of her one of dignity and grace.
We hope this book will inspire you and your children to find hope and emerge stronger in the midst of challenges.
